This seminar provides guidance on the latest version of BREEAM 2014 New Construction, with particular reference to the use of concrete.
There will be a focus on scoring credits for reduction of energy use and carbon emissions, and material ratings in the green guide and use of recycled aggregates. An overview will also be provided on the newly added credits including those associated with adaptation to climate change; material efficiency, and durability and resilience.
Attendees at the event will receive a copy of the recently published guide ‘Concrete and BREEAM 2014’ from The Concrete Centre.

Elaine has nearly 20 years’ experience of working in the construction industry, principally as an architect within private practice. She currently works in the Sustainability, Architecture and Housing Team, at The Concrete Centre and provides decision-makers in the construction industry with advice and design guidance related to the use of concrete. As well as providing project advice, Elaine also contributes to Concrete Quarterly and author’s technical guidance. She is a long serving member of the Lewisham Planning Authority Design Panel.

Walking from New Street Station takes around 20 minutes and directions can be found here. Moor Street station is a short 8-10 minute walk.
