As we finalise things for the new academic year, I thought I'd introduce one of the design initiatives that has been set up at the Birmingham School of Architecture. Co.Lab  (now in its second year) is a cross-disciplinary architecture & design initiative focussing on 'live' projects where our students and staff engage with the creative community of the city, delivering real outcomes across a range of scales and formats.

The main idea is to promote a collaborative design process with all people involved - from students to clients (and everyone in between). In a short space of time, we have worked on over 25 projects - from a green timber bridge to a temporary cinema structure (and everything in between). We have a number of new exciting projects planned for this year so you should hopefully be hearing much more of us.

More information on everything we do (and what we have done) can be found on our website.
