Following the generous donation of $1 million dollars to the Birmingham School of Architecture by alumnus Dr Albert Hong, a Professorship post was created in honour of former Head of School, Oscar Naddermier. This post, the Oscar Naddermier Professor of Architecture in History, Theory and Cultural Context will be responsible for these key areas across the School of Architecture (and Landscape) as well as lead one of the School's Research Hubs. This privately funded Professorship is the only one of its kind in BCU and is a significant coup for a post 1992 University.
The University, Faculty, and School are delighted to announce that Christian Frost, a Principal Lecturer at Kingston University has been appointed to the post from an incredibly strong international shortlist.
Christian is a registered Architect who has an MPhil in the History and Philosophy of Architecture from University of Cambridge. He acts as a Chair on RIBA Validation Boards and is an External Examiner at De Montfort University. Christian has authored a number of conference papers, articles and book chapters as well as the book "Time Space and Order: The making of medieval Salisbury". Christian will join current Head of School Kevin Singh, who was conferred as a Professor in March, and his team towards the end of this academic year.
